A lifelong resident of the Federation Star, Felix has dreamed about competing in a process known as The Game, for a chance to become a designated leader of tomorrow. However, Felix's dreams come to a halt when he learns he does not qualify to play. To escape his old life, Felix takes up residence on Humanity's fifth colonization project, the planet Hephaes. After being exposed to a foreign substance, the planet is placed under emergency measures. Felix finds himself learning to navigate the crumbling world and escape while he still can, joined by a small group of followers. Now more than ever, Felix must learn to win in a world where he has always lost.
