Leaping Lion Books is a York University affiliated publishing press run by the Professional Writing program's fourth-year Book Publishing students. Applying practical skills in a classroom setting, students gain experience and skills in all aspects of a publishing house, as well as the pleasure of being involved in creating a real book. Leaping Lion Books consists of teams in areas of editing, design, marketing, production, business, and web development, which are overseen by the course director, Professor Mike O'Connor.
Since our debut in 2009, Leaping Lion Books has been publishing manuscripts written by Canadian authors, and making them available for purchase on Amazon, Kobo, and at the York University Bookstore.
